More than a presentation, the event was conceived as a shared reflection on the role of ceramics in contemporary design and their capacity to transcend the merely structural and become an expressive resource.
The session began with a presentation by África Macías, who revealed the conceptual origin of O-BUIT: a formal exploration of the void as a generative element. Based on a geometric gesture using curves of equal radius, the system is articulated into three pieces—a main double-lobed unit and two auxiliary ones (one oval, one circular)—that allow for the configuration of open, dynamic, and permeable structures.
Far from being merely a construction system, O-BUIT presents itself as a design tool capable of modulating light, promoting ventilation, and creating shifting atmospheres. It is a language that introduces depth, rhythm, and texture, redefining the architectural boundary as a living, sensory, intermediate space.

Through their presentations, the designers shared how each proposal interprets the system through its own unique narrative—drawing on the sensory and immersive dimension of the space. “The Sound Club by Bang & Olufsen”, until the exploration of what is changing in “Kamaleohm”, o el diálogo entre emoción y materia en “De los sentidos al alma”, ceramics reveal themselves to be an element capable of adapting to different languages without losing their identity.
In this regard, O-BUIT positions itself as a new proposition that combines innovation, industrial precision, and formal expression, placing the void—traditionally understood as absence—at the heart of contemporary design.
